Help us to welcome Uwamahoro Claudine to Mwana Nshuti for the 5th promotion of the Culinary Arts program here at Kagarama, Kicukiro!!!
Claudine is a young, 18-year-old student from Nyaruguru in the South of Rwanda. Living now in Kanombe, Kigali, she heard about Mwana Nshuti from a neighbor who was then completing the Moto Vehicle Mechanics promotion. His experience sparked her interest and she decided to join this year’s class of Culinary Arts students. Here were some of her thoughts at the start of the semester.
How are you feeling right now at the start of the promotion?
“In the beginning it was certainly hard, but now I feel like I am starting to learn new things. I love cooking, which is why I chose Culinary Arts, so I enjoy the challenge. I really hope that by the end of the time here I’ll be able to do everything I’ve been taught in Culinary Arts by Gaudence.”
What do you hope to accomplish?
“I want to achieve everything here at Mwana Nshuti that I have faith I can do. There is so much to learn from the teachers, and I want to follow everything they teach me in order to accomplish my future dream of owning my very own hotel.”
Thanks for hearing these three students’ hopes and thoughts as they started their promotion at Mwana Nshuti, Kicukiro.
Stay tuned for updates on their progress and feelings now coming into April!

Mwana Nshuti starts up after holidays with a new set of students! These students are enrolled in our hairdressing, mechanics and our newest option, cooking class. We are so excited to see them grow and learn as they begin their studies!
Students have started their internships in various community garages. This internship provides the students a great chance to practice their skills as well as network and connect with local garage owners. The mechanic students will intern for 3 months before graduating from the Mwana Nshuti Vocational School.
